Dear members and guests,
We are writing to update you on progress of the 50-metre pool at the Gungahlin Leisure Centre.
The ACT Government is working to engage a contractor to start fixing the pool as soon as possible with the aim to reopen the pool before the end of the year.
Investigations to determine the cause of the damage have been ongoing since June 2020 which has prevented the pool from reopening since it was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. This work was important to understand the best way to repair the pool to minimise the risk of this happening again.
We appreciate your patience while the issue is resolved and we are looking forward to opening the pool to members again before the end of the year.
We will continue to work with the government to provide you with regular updates as works progress.
The closure of the 50-metre pool does not impact the 25-metre pool or any other areas of the leisure centre.
