Member Update (July 2026)

As July has arrived and Canberra eases into the winter months, staying active becomes an even more valuable way to support our health, wellbeing, and sense of connection.
We’re here to help our community stay warm, engaged, and moving throughout the season. Thank you for being part of our community—we look forward to seeing you in the centre!

GOswim Winter Rewards
Go in a draw to win a Roar and Snore Voucher!
This winter, our GOswim families are invited to take part in the Waterways Adventure program.
By attending weekly swimming lessons from the 1st June to the 23rd August, children can collect a stamp each week as they build essential water‑safety skills and enjoy the journey through all 12 waterways.
Along the way, swimmers can also earn fun winter rewards, including a free hot chocolate, icy pop, and a winter beanie.
Complete all 12 weeks and you’ll be entered into the draw to receive a Taronga Zoo Roar and Snore voucher. Dont forgot to grab your card at the reception!
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea

This May, patrons came together in support of the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea. We are so grateful for all donations, and support towards such an important cause. Every contribution helps make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
Thank you to everyone who made the morning such a success!
GOswim Swim Caps

From 1 July 2026, all swimmers in mainstream group classes at Gungahlin Leisure Centre will be required to wear a swim cap.
This supports a focused learning environment, enhances safety, and helps maintain pool hygiene.
- Swim caps are to be worn for every lesson
- A range of swim caps are available at reception for purchase
- Please note: swimmers without a cap won’t be able to participate in their lesson
We appreciate your support in helping us create a safe, clean, and positive environment for all swimmers.
Chair Class for Heart Week

We also celebrated Heart Week with the introduction of our Chair Class. This class is a gentle and accessible way to stay active, perfect for all fitness levels.
This new class will be added to our Group Fitness timetable commencing on Friday the 5th June at 9:30am.
Bookings can be made via the ActiveWorld app or at reception.
Keep Watch Policy
Parents Supervise, Lifeguards Save Lives
We follow the Royal Life Saving Keep Watch policy, which states that parents/guardians must all times actively supervise the child under their care, including during swim lesson when visiting a public aquatic facility.
Be it casual swimming activities or GOswim Swimming Lessons, we require parents to adhere to our Keep Watch Policy to ensure utmost aquatic safety for children.
Lifeguards and swim instructors are not babysitters. Please supervise your children at all times and remain free from distractions. Mobile phones, tablets, and laptops can limit effective supervision.
